- Mapping the existing virtual infrastructure
- Assessment of Cloud maturity: evaluation of the current use of Microsoft software and services
- Identifying the hardware’s technical limitations
- Drawing up a provisional budget for the migration, deployment and maintenance of the Cloud infrastructure
- Budget preparation
- Establishing contact with the hosting company, software publisher and selected service providers
